Louise is a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years experience in the public sector, including Alcohol and Drug, Disability and Mental Health. In addition she has over 2 years experience in private clinical practice. She completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology in 2004 whilst working part time as a Youth AOD Counsellor and developed a particular interest in providing psychological interventions for adolescents and adults presenting with substance use disorders and comorbid mental health issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, trauma, and deliberate self-harm. She is skilled in a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Louise is an experienced Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor for provisional and general psychologists including those wishing to gain clinical endorsement. Louise holds an honorary lecturer position with the School of Psychology, University of Tasmania. She is a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and APS Substance Use Disorders Interest Group.
