Our Psychologists
André completed a Masters degree in Psychology in 1993. André worked in Tasmania’s DHHS, Mental Health Services for over 16 years and has been in private practice for over 15 years. André is also registered on the Psychology Board of Australia list of approved supervisors for supervision of provisional and general psychologists. André is a member of the APS Clinical College and The International Association for the Study of Pain.
André is skilled in the use of both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to assess and treat psychological problems, including anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder and psychotic disorders. André provides assistance to adults, adolescents and children in overcoming a range of mental health and developmental problems.
André has an interest in men’s and youth health, health promotion, and early intervention.
Louise is a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years experience in the public sector, including Alcohol and Drug, Disability and Mental Health. In addition she has over 2 years experience in private clinical practice. She completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology in 2004 whilst working part time as a Youth AOD Counsellor and developed a particular interest in providing psychological interventions for adolescents and adults presenting with substance use disorders and comorbid mental health issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, trauma, and deliberate self-harm. She is skilled in a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Louise is an experienced Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor for provisional and general psychologists including those wishing to gain clinical endorsement. Louise holds an honorary lecturer position with the School of Psychology, University of Tasmania. She is a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and APS Substance Use Disorders Interest Group.
Jacqui completed her degree at the University of Tasmania in 1998. Her Master’s degree research focussed on the treatment of phobias. Jacqui spent seven years working in Tasmania and interstate in Disability Services, managing the assessment and treatment of mental health problems and dual diagnoses. Jacqui also worked in private practice on a part-time basis as an Employment Assistance Program provider and a trauma debriefing psychologist. Jacqui joined the PsychologyWorks team in 2009.
Jacqui is skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness training, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to promote wellbeing and personal change. Since moving back to Tasmania in 2008, Jacqui has also completed assessment and suicide prevention initiatives among refugee populations in Tasmania.
Jenni is also a member of the APS College of Health Psychologists, and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists Jenni’s experience in private practice has included the treatment of trauma, depression, eating disorders, anxiety and medico-legal assessments. She has also been involved in the development and facilitation of corporate programs, and does individual coaching on a regular basis. Jenni is skilled in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness skills, and Schema Therapy.
Aquina has recently relocated to Australia to pursue her career in clinical psychology with emphasis on resolving negative emotions with warmth and genuine interpersonal style. Aquina is an integrated therapist who assesses the use of theoretical orientation based on clients’ needs, which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Play Therapy, Intensive Short Term Dynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy etc.
Nicholas has worked for the last 12 years in the Forensic Mental Health Service, part of the Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to this he worked at the Hobart Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital. He has worked in private practice throughout this time, both as a sole practitioner and for employee assistance providers.
Nicholas uses a solution-focused approach to treat individuals in private practice, drawing mainly on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Nicholas is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s Coaching Psychology interest group. He works with individuals and organizations to improve performance and wellbeing in a range of settings.
Emily has a special interest in how the experiences of childhood impact our cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning in adulthood. She also has a passion for neurodiversity and neurodiversity-affirming therapy (although, please note that she does not currently offer formal neuropsychological assessments).
Emily is undergoing an ISST (International Society of Schema Therapy) certification to become an accredited Schema Therapist. She is also undertaking EMDR training and supervision to become an accredited EMDR trauma therapist.
Emily is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA). She works with people aged 18 years and older.
Eleanor recognises how daunting it can be to engage in therapy and the strength required to begin the process. Taking this into consideration, Eleanor uses a warm, collaborative approach to work with children, adolescents, and adults to support them to express and explore their concerns in a safe and non-judgemental way. Eleanor is flexible in her approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based interventions to ensure the therapeutic process is tailored to her client’s individual treatment needs. Eleanor strongly believes that her clients are the narrators of their own story and is passionate about working alongside them to identify their strengths and develop strategies to support them in progressing towards their goals.

Paula has over 20 years' experience working in the mental health space, particularly with children and young adults.
She uses a gentle, warm and creative approach with her clients, while utilising CBT, ACT, mindfulness and play therapies. Paula is experienced in working with adults, children, families and couples. She is also available to see NDIS participants.
