Nicholas has a special interest in the treatment of anxiety, including panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, workplace stress and generalized anxiety, as well as treating the problems these create in relationships, families, and the workplace.
Nicholas has worked for the last 12 years in the Forensic Mental Health Service, part of the Department of Health and Human Services. Prior to this he worked at the Hobart Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital. He has worked in private practice throughout this time, both as a sole practitioner and for employee assistance providers.
Nicholas uses a solution-focused approach to treat individuals in private practice, drawing mainly on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Nicholas is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s Coaching Psychology interest group. He works with individuals and organizations to improve performance and wellbeing in a range of settings.
